NSITF: ‘No Mass Exodus, No Crisis’. .... Says Restructuring, not Resignations as Fund Dismisses Sahara Reporters’ Report as ‘Misrepresentation’

“The NSITF considers both the publication and the demands arising from it to be without merit.” Mede, NSITF's Head of Corporate Affairs

The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, NSITF, has rejected allegations of a managerial crisis and mass resignation of workers, calling the claims “false, misleading, and a deliberate misrepresentation of facts.”

In a statement issued Thursday, Head of Corporate Affairs, Alexandra Mede, faulted a Sahara Reporters publication dated June 4, 2026, and a related petition by a coalition of civil society organisations that relied on it.

“The NSITF considers both the publication and the demands arising from it to be without merit,” Mede said. “They are rooted in a deliberate misrepresentation of facts.”

On claims of mass resignations and staff intimidation, she clarified that no such crisis exists: “There has been no mass resignation. The staff exits referenced were voluntary and form part of the Fund’s ongoing restructuring to strengthen efficiency and service delivery.”

NSITF urged contributors, stakeholders, and the public to disregard the report, insisting that management remains stable and focused on its mandate of providing social insurance protection to Nigerian workers.
