The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) has achieved about 85 per cent of its 2026 contribution target in the first six months of the year, a milestone its management says reflects resilience despite sweeping institutional reforms.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Fund, Oluwaseun Faleye, disclosed this during the 2026 Half-Year Performance Review Meeting in Abuja, where he challenged regional managers to move beyond routine activities and focus on delivering measurable results in the remaining months of the year.

Describing the performance as encouraging, Faleye noted that the Fund had weathered significant organisational changes while sustaining steady growth. He, however, stressed that the next phase must be driven by impact rather than statistics.

"Our focus in the second half is not just on meeting targets but on delivering outcomes that improve the lives of Nigerian workers and employers," he said, urging managers to deepen compliance, expand coverage and strengthen service delivery.

He commended staff across the regions for their commitment and adaptability, saying the achievements recorded so far were made possible by teamwork and dedication despite operational challenges.

Faleye also reiterated the Fund's commitment to improving efficiency through technology, enhancing stakeholder engagement and accelerating reforms aimed at repositioning the NSITF as a more responsive and service-oriented institution.

The review meeting assessed performance across regional offices, identified operational gaps and outlined strategies to consolidate gains in revenue generation, claims processing and enforcement of the Employees' Compensation Scheme.

Management expressed optimism that with renewed focus and stronger execution, the Fund would not only surpass its 2026 contribution target but also deepen its impact on workplace safety and social protection across the country.
